I'm 17 again!

This weekend was a fun fun weekend because I actually went back to ISKL (The International School of Kuala Lumpur), my high school, to judge Solo and Duet Acting for the SEA Forensics Competiton. For those of you who don't know, although I bet you do since I talk about it a lot, I actually won both Solo in Duet Acting in 2004, my last year of school. I also won the whole tournament by most points and as a result won the Anne Russell Award. So basically, it was like the BEST day of my life and there was some chanting of my name involved at the Awards Ceremony.

So fast forward to now, 5 years later, and I went back and I judged the thing. I have to tell you guys it was soooooooooooo much fun. Also I got to catch up with Sahari and Richardson and it was just so great. BTW for all of you in the golden '04 year of ISKL, Sahari still refers to us as the 'special year'.

Ok and a quick recap for those of you who really don't know about this comp, the SEA Forensics tournament is held annually in ISKL. A bunch of schools compete in events like Debate, Original Oratory, Original Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Solo and Duet Acting, some other stuff I can't remember... The schools that compete are ISKL, Assunta (yes I remember them because they scream A LOT), La Salle PJ, Victoria Institution, St John's, Hong Kong International School, Garden International and some other schools I can't remember.

So anyway I judged for this, I woke up FREAKISHLY early, like 6:00am and got there to judge Solo at 8:30am. I was so damn tired and I didn't have a pen so I asked these super obliging kids behind me, from I'm-sorry-but-I-don't-know-your-school, for a pen and they like all panicked collectively and found me one. Thank you nameless kids. Solo was overall okay, I had problems with them and liked them. I was definitely more positive about Duet which had some really good pieces. I mean basically if you pick Neil Simon or David Ives its gonna be entertaining.

The school looks good, kinda scrubbed and spiffed up. Makes me really want to do something in the education line... *hint* *hint* * wink* *wink*

Flavor of the Week: Robert Downey Jr.

So I know that Iron Man was like so 6 months ago and that the last time I actually saw Robert Downey on TV was when the Golden Globes were on but I mean seriously, I saw the guy for five minutes and I haven't stopped jonesing for him since then. So he's like a multiple flavor of the week for me.
ROBERT DOWNEY JR.

So apparently he's been acting since he was teeny tiny and then got very famous and then was on Ally McBeal and then he was in rehab and then he did a few movies, namely, Iron Man, which was a huge hit and he's back with a vengeance.

This is good news for everyone with a pulse because he's freakishly charismatic, hugely entertaining and is the best thing ever, ok?! So here's Robert Downey Jr. my flavor of the week, also Gong Xi Fa Cai to all Chinese friends, I'll write more stuff about my life soon!
